I salute the Izzy for his knowledge, and ask, has he seen this herringbone shirting jacket in person, and not just in photo? Because my very first thought was, What on earth has been used to interface this jacket? It doesn't have the giveaway bubble and ripple of (feh!) fusible interfacing (feh!), but most of the canvas I've worked with would be too heavy - the light ones might work with a tropical wool, but not a shirting fabric. Yet it appears to hold its shape beautifully. Is it possible that Paul Stuart has used a silk organza to interface this shirting jacket? Is there a way to find out?

And if that's a traditional hair canvas, can the Izzy, with his connections, find out what make/manufacturer/weight that is? I would love to obtain a nice big chunk of it! Many thanks!

Dearest Izzy:

I must heartily concur with Her Ladyship. I am only a simple girl from a remote island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, but even from such humble beginnings, one recognizes that you are a precious jewel for exhorting your gentle readers toward scorn and despite for fused interfacing. After all...why go through all the trouble of weaving a gorgeous textile, only to paste it to a piece of cardboard?

With eyes trained forward to your future postings,

Your humble servant,
LPFT

Dearest Izzy, Her ladyship just has to ask how many of your dear readers even know what you're talking about when you say that Paul Stuart uses canvas not fused fronts? Her Ladyship is indeed impressed that Izzy knows that this makes all the difference in the world. Only a VERY well informed clothes horse or a tailor would know this.
