The Great Plains
By IzzyKevin Costner goes retro-Western in a dapper three-piece suit, but the lack of detail in his outfit makes Izzy yawn. Costner should have heeded the classic rule when combining a shirt, tie, and suit: “two plains and a fancy”—that is, of the three, one should have some kind of pattern or pizzazz to catch the eye. And Izzy also thinks it’s fair to say that to complete his look, Costner badly needs a hat, especially given the increasing desertification of his scalp.

He needs a cowboy hat or a fedora or something. I can’t stand the Ron Howard/Dale Gribble “I can’t bear to let my bald head show, so I’ll wear a baseball cap everywhere and nobody will notice!” look. Look, we know you’re bald. It happens to lots of guys as they get older. Lose the stupid baseball cap unless you’re spending time in the sun and don’t want your pate to burn.

A pocket square would have made that suit far less boring.
But then a pocket square always makes a suit less boring.

Putting some pattern to the vest (perhaps something that brought the red tie and beige suit together) might also have worked. Or a more patterned tie. Like a classic red paisley and a matching pocket square.
It would be nice to know if he went with full western jewelry like the watch on the chain, but alas the picture cuts off mid-chest.
