Darth Vader was modeled on both, Samuri and Nazi in order to maximise his "evil intent" with american audiences, and remind them of evil empires such as ww2 germany and japan. With the ribbing around the bottom, Galliano's helmet looks even more like a samurai helmet than Vader's did. Me, I'm wondering when Galliano found the time to do battle with the <a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/news/cult/news/drwho/2005/11/10/26933.shtml" rel="nofollow">Cybermen</a> alongside Doctor Who, as that must be where he got the tropy skull mounted on the helmet.
