I’ve never seen anyone actually pull it off in reality, either. I’ve seen guys attempt it going “black tie optional” - but this is a new one. It’s a neat idea, though - give him points for originality, at least!

I’ve seen it in old 30s and 40s movies, usually immediately after the formal event, when the hero is trying to look debonair, yet unpretentious
