1) What makes these brogues? They resemble what I would think of as wingtips.

2) Speaking of wingtips, my old ones are worn out, and I have a hard time replacing them. Many of the new styles have this wacky toe which I think will soon be dated. Who is making the classic wingtip now?

Ideally an economical one; all leather of course, but I don't see why they should cost $300. I had seen Allen Edmonds' a year or two ago, but I think I need a wide width. Also Cole-Haan had what seemed nice; also not quite a fit; and they may no longer make them. Having to have a pair for interviews, I bought a pair of Florsheim Imperials, but again they have the weird toe (like in your photo here), and though the 13s I bought seem to fit, would rather have had 12 or 12.5 wides, I think.

I didn't know how lucky I was to find the ones I did, I suppose. They are too worn, it seems, to glean the old maker's name so I could at least try to find that brand. If memory serves I bought them at SYMS for either $99 or $120, probably marked down 50%, and they pleased me much. Aside from looking spiffy they were comfy for a long walk or dancing. Sigh...
