I agree about this one. I guess we can allow great Ralph to make a mistake sometimes. On the other hand, good old pony is just so much more than a logo.

What's interesting to me is that logo this not at all accurate in terms of how a horse really gallops. This is how a galloping horse was depicted in paintings before the age of photgraphy. When a horse's limbs come off the ground at a full gallop its limbs are tucked under the body, not spread out. Just google "Edweard Muybridge" to see a famous series of photos that finally proved this.

So I wonder what RL is really trying to communicate with this logo. Some kind of connection to a gentrified past?

I really thought this was a joke until I went to the polo website. This is in poor taste and indicates that Mr. Lifshitz may have Alzheimers or something.

Personally, I'd like to see a stickball player. That would be truer to his roots (and nothing wrong w/ that).

Agreed totally. I like Ralph Lifschitz's stuff when it is logoless, but the pony just ruins it. Why does it have to be so enormous? Just wear a T-shirt saying "This T-shirt cost $80" if you want to advertise so badly.
