Once the heroic face of Spartacus and Colonel Dax, Kirk Douglas, sad to say, looks a bit pathetic in cartoonish primary-colored playclothes. While he is has been supporting a noble cause, the renovation of playgrounds around Los Angeles, is it too much to ask the living legend to maintain his dignity?

I hope I’m going down slides at 91!

My goodness, he’s 91 years old! He’s doing great things for kids, and he can still climb stairs and slide down slides! I say he can wear whatever he damn well pleases.

Apparently it escapes Izzy that what the man is doing is what affords him dignity.

The primary colours are perfectly appropriate and most suitable when one is supporting the renovation of playgrounds! There is nothing more suitable for a playground than playclothes, and primary colours are absolutely the correct colours for those clothes.
I see no lack of dignity in what Mr. Douglas is wearing, nor in what he is doing; I see a generous heart, a civic spirit, a sense of fun, and a bright flash of wit in the socks that match his shirt. I hope that I am able to slide down slides at 91!
