The President is the elegant man who looks very good in the suit, but he definitely needs the casual clothing makeover.
He looks like Urkel X.
There are plenty of traditional and manly designer jeans that would provide the better fit and the better image. Perhaps something from Paper, Denim & Cloth, or Seven for All Mankind, or the Manolo’s current favorite, Earnest Sewn.
Fifteen minutes of trying on the jeans in the presence of the properly-trained male clothier would have saved us from having to talk about this subject.
i would say that the president should wear levi’s if anything. the companies you mentioned are all children of the italian era in denim. they are also pretty heavily branded. yes, i consider back pocket stitching advertising.

I’ll stick with my Wrangler 13MWZ jeans. You should know that Wrangler butts drive girls nuts.

The Manolo agrees that the Levis would be the best, but only if he could get them properly fitted, which is sometime difficult.
Also, not all of the Earnest Sewn jeans do not have obtrusive stitching on the back pockets. The Fulton has almost no stitching, for the example.

Hahaha! $100 for a pair of jeans? He’d be lambasted for being out of touch with the common man and his common jeans. The real problem is the whole belt-and-polo look he keeps rocking with the jeans and sneakers. Not good.

Casual clothing suited for a president should definitely not entail wearing unflattering denim and a heinously colored polo shirt. I think both outfits could be upgraded with the help of custom dress shirts. Unbuttoned collar in a nice fabric should do the trick.

501s, the one and only jean. I mean, he is drinking Budweiser at his beer bash on the Vineyard today.

I like the way he looks – he looks as if he has better things on his mind than fashion – like having fun at a baseball game, or simply riding a bike.

@Julie-I totally agree…..what does he care about expensive denim?I mean,he could have rocked some 501’s,but I think his choice is more reflective of middle Americas tastes anyway….
